Offshore wind energy is abundant near population centers around the world. However, the economics of fabrication, installation, and operation of wind farms have been issues for investors besides the visual pollution to population in shallow waters. Recent interest in energy independence and with the cost of oil on the rise, there is renewed interest to study the commercial viability of this technology at deeper waters. HWD engineers pioneered deepwater platforms economically for the offshore oil & gas industry during the period of lower oil prices. We are extending our successful technology development and delivery in fixed platform, semi-submersible, TLP, and Spar to the offshore wind industry.
