The Multi-Column Floater (MCF) is a flexible drilling and production unit that is relocatable and capable of addressing challenging fields.
The capabilities of this vessel allow the oil companies to develop deepwater fields with phased development plans, allowing a wide variety of development options throughout the life of the field, therefore mitigating much of the inherent reservoir uncertainty risk while addressing the high drilling costs.
Offshore Wind Energy
Horton Wison engineers pioneered deepwater platforms economically for the offshore oil and gas industry during the period of lower oil prices. We are extending our successful technology development and delivery in fixed platforms, semi-submersibles, TLPs, and spars to the offshore wind industry.
The Horton "Deep Ocean Mining System" is designed to provide a controlled method for mining minerals in deep water. The basis of the design is the modular frame. The mining frame is deployed from a catamaran support vessel designed to manage the frame and mining equipment as well as providing all service and maintenance.
Our engineers come from a heavily rooted R&D background from the early days of the development of TLPs and spars. As development evolved, so did the crafting of design and simulation tools. Horton Wison Deepwater believes that sophisticated tools and automation are necessary and integral in providing solutions to challenging problems in a timely manner. In that spirit, we have developed and continue to craft new tools to solve tomorrow's problems today.
Innovation has been the key to our growth. As technology developers we continually strive to deliver products needed by the offshore industries ranging from oil & gas to mining to renewable energies. We understand the complexities associated with offshore environments and have over 30 years of experience in finding innovative and technology driven solutions.

DELIVERING OFFSHORE SOLUTIONS
The Horton Wison Deepwater team is well known in the deepwater community for being at the leading edge of successful technology development. Seventeen Horton floating production units, some that include drilling rigs, have been built and producing today in the deep waters worldwide. This group started working together at Deep Oil Technology, the developers of both Classic and Truss Spars.
As one of the most recognized inventors in the offshore oil & gas business, Horton Wison Deepwater founder and Vice-Chairman, Ed Horton, has the vision and the creativity combined with the vast amount of experience necessary to lead the Horton Wison team.
Offshore wind energy is abundant near population centers around the world. However, the economics of fabrication, installation, and operation of wind farms have been issues for investors besides the visual pollution to population in shallow waters. Recent interest in energy independence and with the cost of oil on the rise, there is renewed interest to study. . .
