We are known in the deepwater community for being at the leading edge of successful technology development. We come from Deep Oil Technology (DOT), the organization responsible for the development of Spar technology. Since the sale of DOT to Aker and McDermott, the core Spar development group transitioned to the Floater Product Line at Aker. Here we were responsible for technical sales, technical development, and R&D related to the high end proprietary floating systems products. Subsequently Aker was acquired by CSO which then was acquired by Technip. During this progression of companies, the core group assisted in delivering fourteen Spars for deepwater service, representing about half of the worldwide drilling and production systems during that time.
